Rare Crown Trifari Antique necklace design by A.Philippe Signed US Patent 1950s - 項鍊 - 其他金屬 多色

商品介紹

This fascinating necklace was created by Alfred Philippe for Trifari in early 1950’s. The necklace “Gem of India” was included in Christmas collection of 1951. Traditionally Christmas collection was the most prestigious and dazzling jewelry of the year. The necklace was a part of “Gem of India” collection created by Alfred Philippe for Trifari in early 1950’s. As shown in Trifari’s Advertisement from 1951: “It wouldn’t be Christmas without Trifari”. US Patent 164,716 for Necklace design was filed on 4 June 1951 by Alfred Philippe, chief designer of Trifari. This necklace from “Gem of India” collection was featured in Julia Carroll book “Collecting Costume Jewelry 202”, 2d Edition, page 243. The design was first filed for brooch with navette stones in 1953 - US Patent 170,208 by Alfred Philippe and was followed by several design patents for more brooches, earrings and necklaces with similar designs. You may see other pieces from this collection in Julia Carroll book “Collecting Costume Jewelry 202”, 2d Edition, page 253. This beautiful necklace set with large stunning pear-shaped stone accented by crystals of various shapes: chaton, baguette, navette and marquise stones. The setting is gold-tone and exquisitely crafted. The front piece of the necklace measures approximately 6 cm wide and is attached to a snake chain that closes with a fold-over clasp. The total length of the necklace is approximately 35 cm. The combination of the delicate chain, dazzling pendant, and stunning crystals creates romantic look that is both timeless and captivating. This design style embodies beauty, elegance, and a sense of allure. Perfectly encapsulating the intricate style of the 1950s jewelry, showcasing meticulous attention to details and outstanding craftsmanship. Collectors of vintage jewelry and Trifari enthusiasts will appreciate the opportunity to own a piece of history, carrying the legacy of an iconic brand. Invest in this timeless beauty and celebrate the artistry of the 1950s. The necklace is in very good vintage condition. However there could be some minor flaws that corresponds to actual age of this jewelry, which is about 70 year old. Note: Listing only includes one Trifari necklace. Other accessories are not included. Please visit our shop for more unique Trifari pieces. _____ ABOUT TRIFARI Trifari is one of the most important costume jewelry manufacturers in the world. Trifari jewelry is of the outstanding quality, design and craftsmanship. It’s history began more than 100 years ago - in 1910’s. First, the company name was “Trifari and Trifari”, in 1918 it became “Trifari and Krussman”. In 1925 the name was changed to “Trifari, Krussman and Fishel” or “T.K.F.” as early jewelry pieces were signed by these three letters. The unique style of Trifari was mostly created by one man - Alfred Philippe - who joined Trifari in 1930 as Head designer. Alfred Philippe, Frenchman, who previously had been trained and designed jewelry at Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. Philippe introduced to Trifari some sophisticated techniques, such as “the invisible setting” that before was used only to precious jewelry of Cartier. Also Philippe began to use for Trifari the finest cut Swarovski crystals from Austria. In late 1940’s Trifari created and patented their own high-quality non-tarnish alloy named “Trifanium”. After success of gold-tone Trifanium, the company introduced silver-tone triennium in 1950’s. “Trifari” brand name was registered in 1938, ‘the Crown” symbol was added over letter “T” in 1940. The logo had changed several times but all jewelry pieces were always signed with the company logotype. This fact even became a part of advertising campaign; “If it’s not signed, it is not Trifari”. In 1930-1954 the company patented its most popular designs and the jewelry from this period often has “Des.Pat.Pending” signature. From 1955 Trifari became copyrighting its designs, so the jewelry is signed with (c) symbol. Pre-1955 pieces are the most desirable and highly collectible and prices for them will grow over time. The same is true for all Trifari jewelry designed by Alfred Philippe before his retirement in 1968. ________ Dear Valued Customers and Collectors, We would like to bring to your attention the importance of preserving and appreciating the Antique and Vintage jewelry pieces available in our store.
