Among some peoples, these creatures were considered intermediaries between people and gods, because they, having paws, walked on the Earth, having wings, flew to Heaven and, having snake bodies, were able to descend to the Lower Worlds. Therefore, they were approached with requests, expressing their most cherished desires. And the dragons helped them come true.
