This sake tokkuri was made on the pottery wheel. I made this bottle in two stages. The first was throwing the body on the wheel, and the second was hand-building and attaching the neck.
I used local Taiwanese clay and applied a traditional Japanese glazed called shino.
I like to make my pots with a sense of freedom. I believe this one qualifies.
The tokkuri could also pass as a vase...you get to choose.
Stands 16 cm tall.
